Trojan Workforce is working in partnership with the manufacturing arm of a leading Australian specialist retailer who have been in successful operation for over 30 years and boast a network of over 87 stores nationally.

We currently seek a suitably experienced and qualified person for the role of Operations Manager within their established Sydney manufacturing facility located in the Auburn area.

Reporting directly to the General Manager this role will see you responsible for all aspects of production planning including purchasing, inventory and overseeing the MRP2 manufacturing system which drives the manufacturing operation. Other primary functions include management of plant, equipment and building maintenance, quality management functions and internal company account reporting.

Ideal applicants will possess:

• A minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• Technical or mechanical background (preferably in the metal industry)
• Formal management and/or supervisory training
• Prior experience in or understanding of manufacturing accounting (preferred)
• High degree of computer literacy
• An ability to work under pressure.
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to develop close working relationships with key internal staff including the factory manager
