Based in sunny Darwin, an opportunity exists with our client for an experienced operations manager to come and join their Workers Compensation and Motor Accidents Compensation area. You will be responsible for providing outstanding leadership within the operations of these departments, ensuring they are not only cost effective but are maintaining a high standard of performance. This is done by ensuring all claim policies and processes are carried out correctly and to the highest quality.

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Effectively communicate the MAC & Workers Compensation management strategy and how it is implemented into the business
• Communicate with and manage Industry Bodies, Health Providers and the Wider Community
• Successfully manage stuff performance through continued staff development, succession planning, mentoring and keeping the lines of communications open
• In conjunction with People and Culture, develop clearly articulated recruitment and selection processes to ensure a highly effective workforce is in place to achieve set business objectives
• Achieve set staff retention targets
• Manage the claims performance to ensure performance and sustainability are being maintained
• Deliver department business objectives while influencing corporate business objectives
• Assist by planning and actioning claims financial and expense budgets inline with business plans
• Implement systems for interpreting and measuring results from data analyses with and emphasis on making implementation of measures to reduce claim cost

This role offers you to think outside the square, by brining your gained experience from the Insurance Industry and operations management you will be able to help influence the way these business units perform. Someone who is energetic and has exceptional people management skills will thrive in this role. You must have at least 5 years within an Insurance organisation at either a provider management or strategic management level. Have exceptional people leading skills and experience!
