Kinetic Defence Services is Australia's specialist recruiter to the Defence and Aerospace industries. We have an opportunity for a Hardware Engineer to join a established Defence company and to assume responsibility for the hardware design elements of a Defence project. The position is initially based in a specific project. The position reports through the Project Systems Engineering Manager to the Project Manager. Responsibilities: - Liaise with customer design engineering personnel in relation to the product design requirements, performance parameters and qualification.
- Coordinate the hardware design team including design engineering, electronics/mechanical technician and engineering drafting personnel.
- Plan, manage and/or conduct systematic engineering activities involving the design of electrical/electronic circuits and associated mechanical/physical enclosures.
- Manage the transition from design engineering to production engineering for products under development.
Assume primary responsibility for all design, development and qualification activities relating to hardware products required for the project. Required Skills and Experience: - 3+ years in experience in a suitable design engineering role
- Excellent working knowledge of the Systems Engineering process as applied to electronic systems containing both hardware and software
- Good working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, thermal, environmental and electromagnetic design processes
- Experience in the transitioning of design to small-scale production
