User Interface - Senior Analyst Programmer

As the User Interface Senior Analyst Programmer you will provide a high degree of Engineering and technical / analytical assistance in identification of opportunities and solutions to system problems and will be responsible for delivering business solutions involving Information Technology that satisfy agreed customer requirements. 

 

The requirements of this position include the following;

  •  User-interface development background to enhance the existing UI to meet the users' requirements.
  • Experienced Visual Basic (VBA) skills are required (ideally programmed using MS Access) to a backend MS SQL database through ADO.
  • Ideally the candidate will have an electrical engineering background. This is required to 'hit the ground running' when dealing with the clients' user-base.
  • Ability to assess current workflow practises and make comments / recommendations regarding improvements.
  • 3-4 years' C# development experience where the candidate has led a re-engineering project from a previous technology. This will be used on an extensive redevelopment of the platform that is planned.
  • Manage and evaluate system enhancements and resolve system issues to agreed specifications and price.
  • Follow established work practices and promote and maintain safety, whilst controlling environmental impacts and complying with legislative responsibilities. Identify and eliminate hazards and potentially dangerous situations.
  • Good conception abilities, attention to detail and high level commitment to quality
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a close team to take a brief from concept to completion 

To be considered for this role it is essential that you possess the following:

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft ADO with SQL Server connectivity.
  • 3-4 years' experience as a C# developer leading on a re-engineering project.
  • Good conception abilities, attention to detail and high level commitment to quality when working with User Interfaces.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a close team to take a brief from concept to completion
  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex code and to make modifications and defect fixes with minimal supervision.
     

Previous experience with the following skills would be highly desirable:

  • Experience in provision of analyst/programming services.
  • Experience working in an electricity engineering area and able to communicate with users from an engineering background.
  • Proven background in systems software development.

This role will initially be offered on a 3 month contract with possible extensions.
