This is your opportunity to join a large Government Department on a 4 month contract, where you will be undertaking the ongoing maintenance of publishing of Departmental web pages.

Duties include:

• Working with the Webs team to create new pages as required;

• Maintain social media sites in conjunction with Online Communications;

• Maintenance of the Division's intranet pages;

• Ensuring web pages are adhere to departmental policies, standards and procedural documentation; ensuring policies and standards are consistent with Government and Departmental guidance and procedures meet Departmental requirements including compliance with WCAG 2.0;

• Creation of PDFs using full suite of Adobe Acrobat; and

• Ongoing mentoring, advice and support of web authors and content owners across the allocated Division;

• Providing evidence-based advice on the best way to structure information online.

• Provide advice and assistance in other communications duties as required

In addition to these duties, the APS 6 Web Author would;

• Be willing to undertake the departments WCMS training and long document training, if required.

• Assists in the coordination and implementation of short term web page projects

• Manages Divisional "opt-in" email distribution lists for campaigns/non-campaign updates;

• Coordinates and collates the Division's event calendar;

• Conducts website accessibility and provides advice on how required changes as needed;

• Periodic content reviews;

• Willing to undertake the departments WCMS training and long document training; and

• Assist with additional communications duties as required

Technical knowledge required:

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Suite;

• A sound knowledge of and experience in W3C accessibility guidelines, government standards and best practices; or willing to undertake training

• Online marketing skills.

• Lotus Workplace Web Content Management System (WCMS); and

• A sound knowledge of and experience in W3C accessibility guidelines, government standards and best practices

A good knowledge of APS and web policies and procedures coupled with demonstrated experience in supervising staff will help you secure this role.
