There is currently an opening within our client’s Civil Engineering department for an experienced Senior / Principal Civil Engineer within their Regional QLD office. The role reports to the Civil Manager – Queensland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for road and drainage infrastructure projects for local and state government clients and will be actively involved in servicing challenging land development and non-process infrastructure projects. They will assist in the preparation of high quality, best practice, environmentally sensitive engineering concept plans, detailed design plans and documentation for these civil engineering projects, including specifications, cost estimates and tender submissions.
To be successful in gaining this position you must satisfy the following key criteria in order to demonstrate your suitability for this role:
· BEng Civil essential;
· RPEQ and / or CPEng;
· Minimum 10 years’ experience in design & documentation of Civil Engineering projects;
· Demonstrated experience in the design and project management of state roads and land development sub-divisions, roads, including:
- Road and pavements
- Earthwork
- Stormwater drainage modelling and design
- Project management & contract administration
- Water supply and sewage reticulation design
- Pump station design
- Rising main design
· Proven track record in working for State and Local Government clients;
· Understanding of relevant Australian standards, State and Local Government policies and guidelines;
· Knowledge of AutoCAD, Autotrun,12D, 3D CAD;
· Problem solving and decision making skills ;
· Knowledge and application of Australian Civil Engineering codes, construction standards, specifications, procedures and techniques;
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· High competence level with Microsoft Office including Outlook;
· Class C Driver’s License;
· Self motivated team player with an excellent work ethic and desire to succeed
